Confirmation is the sacrament of Christiam maturity, which prefects the grace of Baptism. Confirmation equips the person with the power of the Holy Spirit for the mission of the Church.
For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed."
- CCC 1285
Confirmation is typically received in the 8th grade in the diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Students are prepared to receive the sacarment through Sunday RE or Catholic School.
Confirmation of baptized Catholic adults, who have not received the sacrament, takes place each year by the bishop on the feast of Pentecost (50 days after Easter). Spiritual preparation and education toward receiving Confirmation as an adult through Precious Blood Parish takes place together with those in RCIA. Classes take place on Tuesdays at 6:30 - 8:30 PM and begin September 8th. Please contact the Pastoral Assocaite for more information or to begin Confirmation preparation.
