Most Precious Blood School's Discovery Garden

Most Precious Blood School was awarded a 2009 GreenWorks!  Grant for the installation of a Discovery Garden on their property along with professional development for the staff.  In April 2009, this garden was installed and students began planting the first of many vegetables.  Included in the garden is a water feature, sitting area, bird bath, sundial, and compost site.  The garden is laid out with designated areas for the students to plant flowers, fruits, and vegetables.  In the Fall, the students will harvest their crop and use it to further their scientific discovery.  Any excess harvest will be donated to a local food bank.  Students are also creating stepping stones and signs to decorate the garden.

Most Precious Blood School would like to thank Dr. Teresa Beam, Joe Cochran, Leslie Hamilton, Project Learning Tree, and the University of Saint Francis for their help in this endeavor.
