Preschool - Eighth Grade follow Indiana State Standards and the
Diocesan Curriculum.

Curriculum

A Family of Faith
First and foremost, Most Precious Blood School is a family of  faith brought together by a common love of Jesus Christ.  Students learn to live their lives by the example set by Jesus.  The actions of our teachers and staff clearly demonstrate this.

Students grow in their faith through...

  • Daily classroom prayer and Religion classes

  • Preparing for the sacraments

  • Weekly student Liturgy

  • Prayer services

  • Mass server training

  • Service projects

  • Living Rosary

  • Living Stations of the Cross

  • Atrium - Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Partnerships with St. Joseph Hospital and the University of Saint Francis expose children to a wide variety of opportunities.  Christian service projects are a part of everyday for students at Most Precious Blood School.

Academically Speaking
Most Precious Blood School provides a balanced literacy approach to the Language Arts.  The Accelerated Reader program allows students to read and grow at their own pace.  Algebra is offered in Eighth Grade.  A hands-on Science curriculum lets students really get involved.

Additional courses are also offered weekly at Most Precious Blood School, including Art, Library, Physical Education, Health, Music, and Computers.

Students in Grades 6-8 benefit academically through electives.  Electives are offered in the areas of Robotics, Advanced Band, Strategy, Future City, Student Council and Map, Compass & GPS.  Choir is also offered to students in Grades 6-8.

Technology Abounds

Every classroom is equip with multiple computers and internet capability.  A complete computer lab gives each student a chance to hone keyboarding skills and complete web research on both MAC and IBM computers.

In 2007 SmartBoards were installed in every homeroom.  These interactive whiteboards motivate students learning by combining the simplicity of a whiteboard with the technology of a computer.  Students are able to write on the SmartBoards with LCD pens.  Complex lessons such as dissecting a frog can be shared with ease.

Students in Grades 6-8 have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of computer programming through elective classes of Future City and Robotics.

Television Studio Productions
Most Precious Blood School is the only elementary school in its district to offer a full television studio as part of its curriculum.  Public Service Announcement creation and other programming opportunities are available to students in grades 6-8.

All Day Preschool and Kindergarten Options
The Preschool program offers full day options for 3, 4, and 5 year olds two, three or five days per week.  A full day Kindergarten is also offered every day.  Before and after school care is another option for working parents.

Athletics
Most Precious Blood School is proud of its athletic program.  A fully-functioning bowling alley is located directly on the school campus.  Athletic programs bring students and families together.

Creativity is Encouraged
Creativity is nurtured at Most Precious Blood School.  Whether through involvement with the Handbell Choir in Middle School or Chimes in Fifth Grade, musical expression is cultivated.  A yearly Broadway musical production is one to the many cultural highlights of the year and involves students at a variety of grade levels.

Most Precious Blood School also offers Beginning and Advanced Band, to students in Grades 4-8, as well as Choir to students in Grades 6-8.
